David Briggs
David is founder and President of Benefit Strategies Group, Inc.
With over 2 decades in the employee benefit and financial services arena, David has a clear understanding of the benefits landscape and has been helping employers and employees control rising costs while retaining a high level of benefit. He has formerly served on an advisory board with Medica Health Plans to help develop benefit products & services that small businesses need to help retain and attract good employees.
Dave is a registered financial representative offering employers, employees and individuals guidance in the financial service arena such as retirement planning, 401k, college funding, IRA’s, 529 Plans and estate planning.
A lifelong resident of Minnesota, Dave graduated from the University of MN- Duluth and now resides in Savage, MN. David enjoys what our area has to offer, during the summer he can be found boating, fishing and water skiing the many lakes with his wife and 3 daughters. During the winter he can be found most weekends on a sideline helping coach his children in basketball.
Mike Burress
Michael J. Burress is employed as CEO of Benefit Strategies Group, Inc.
A native of Minnesota, he serves on the legislative committee of the Minnesota Association of Health Underwriters, has served on a special advisory board of two of the largest health carriers in the region and has attained the Chartered Life Underwriter degree (CLU). He has also served on the health care advisory panels of a couple of Minnesota's prominent State Legislators.
He is a past Flotilla Commander in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, and raises money for sick children through a non-profit foundation he created. He is a private pilot, a street rodder, and an avid boater, and serves on the board of 2 non-profit charitable organizations. He is the father of 3 and grandfather of 14. He lives in Lake Elmo, and when not volunteering as a member of The Patriot Guard Riders, he enjoys his cabin with his family "up north".
His 30+ years of experience as a financial planner, health insurance broker, and employee benefits consultant gives him a valuable background in helping employers, professionals and individual clients understand the complicated world of health insurance and so-called "fringe benefits".
